Patricia added this wisdom from Marshall to her post--saving here before moving it to stillness--reminding myself to look for the place where Marshall said, "you can't follow your thoughts and your breath at the same time" (or, your mind can't be preoccupied when you follow your breath": “In addition to all the remarkable benefits of practicing stillness, the New Message stresses the importance of stillness in enabling each one of us to wisely navigate an increasingly discordant, changing and unpredictable world. It is important to think of the stillness practice and all of the teachings and practices in the New Message in this larger practical context. Your mission in life will depend upon this wise navigation and all the skills that this requires.”[1]
