The desire for revenge

"This is a world of compromise. It is a world of distractions. It is a world with many powerful seductive forces. It is a world of great tragedy that engenders anger and condemnation and the desire for revenge. It is a difficult environment. It is a hazardous environment. And yet it is beautiful and marvelous and holds a greater promise for you and for others."[1]

The vengeful messiah

"The Messiah will not return to the world. It is now the time for Knowledge to emerge. It is the era of human cooperation and human responsibility. No one great leader is going to come and lead humanity into a glorious future. No one individual is going to come and settle all the scores and take revenge upon the wicked. That is the old idea of God."[2]

The vengeful god

"People are impatient. They want a judgment day. They want everything to be finished. They do not want to have to live with great questions, great unresolved questions. They want God to punish others that they themselves cannot or will not punish. They think they know what justice is. And that is why the old God is filled with revenge, anger and repudiation that people are forced to believe in with the threat of death and Hell."[2]

"God did not create Hell and does not punish the wicked. You want to punish the wicked to take out your revenge, to exact your notions of justice. But for God there is only redemption of those who have fallen and who are lost."[3]

"Do not make God into a larger version of yourself by projecting your own petty and inappropriate attitudes, your wish for revenge, your hatred of others. You do not know God's Will."[4]

The attraction of evil

"Evil has its own attractions, and many fall prey to this, even unknowingly. They behave in a civil manner because society demands it, but beneath they are full of grievance and the desire for revenge, the attractions of darkness."[5]

Faith and revenge

"This Great Faith ensures that the Power of God is there to guide you, to protect you and to lead you to great accomplishments in life. Without such a faith, you would not see this greater possibility, you would not recognize the signs within yourself and you would not heed the direction that is provided. For you would be overtaken by the world around you— swayed by the grievances, the rage and the conflict that you see and hear around you. You would be lost—swept away by the Great Waves of change, overtaken by human suffering, overwhelmed by a world you could not understand. And your mind would become filled with anger, fear and revenge."[6]

The antidote for revenge

Knowledge "is the antidote to hatred, to malice, to greed, to obsession, to addiction, and for the need for revenge."[7]

"What God has placed within you is not violent. It is not hateful. It does not seek revenge."[8]

"This is the power beyond all powers. This is the strength beyond all strengths. This is the courage beyond all courage. This is the power, strength and courage that does not evoke conflict and war. It is not hateful. It does not contain revenge. It is not arrogant and ignorant. It does not put people in positions of higher authority beyond everyone else. It gives everyone authority according to their nature and purpose and design in the world at this time." [9]
