Becoming Wise

What does it mean to become wise? How do you discern Wisdom in another? What are the results of achieving this state of mind and readiness? Of course, people have many images associated with Wisdom. It is often associated with asceticism or self-sacrifice, loneliness, suffering, mystery or an inexplicable quality in others. It is often held in very high regard, but in such a way that people feel that it is quite remote from them and quite beyond their reach or grasp.

Visitors’ Perceptions of Humanity

It is always helpful to understand how others view you. In the context of the world’s emergence into the Greater Community, it is most beneficial that you have some idea of how your neighbors perceive you. This is important to give you a new understanding of how to relate to intelligent life around you and to give you a greater vantage point to view yourself from a larger and perhaps very different viewpoint. This is a rare opportunity, for though people may attempt to have a more objective viewpoint of each other, they are still far too subjective in their evaluations, and they do not have a reference point that is significantly unique or different in order to develop a truly new perspective. You see each other according to a standard set of values.

Responding to the Greater Community

Let us say at the beginning that the world is certainly being visited by different groups for different purposes. There are some groups who wish to assess your technology, to learn about your nature and to determine your biological codes, which will tell them about your temperament and predispositions. Others are coming here to determine whether you are capable of engaging in commerce and trade. Still others are coming here to look for the ancient depositories and to utilize and recruit those who show some skill and knowledge of the physical environment to help them do so.

Greater Community Visitations

Greater Community Realities

We have mentioned in many of our presentations the idea that the world is emerging into the Greater Community. What is the Greater Community? What does it really mean? And what are its implications for humanity? We shall speak a little on this now, though we will not give you all the information because there is so much, and so much of it would be meaningless and incomprehensible to you. Instead, we shall focus on the aspects that have bearing on your future and your fate and that have meaning and importance for your education and development now.

Courage

It takes great courage to change, even under normal circumstances. One must recognize and accept the truth, trust one’s deeper inclinations and in many cases give up a preferred advantage, relationship or situation. One must face the unknown and entertain new possibilities. This all requires courage. Yet, when change is required on a greater scale – indeed when humanity itself is changing and you are in the center of this – an even greater courage is required. It is built upon trust, recognition, preparation and compassion. You cannot muster this courage up within yourself if you do not have these pillars upon which to stand.

Pride

People have very mixed feelings about pride. On the one hand, they do not like the appearance of pride because it is arrogant and condescending. It makes others feel smaller or weaker or less capable. It has an insulting quality to it that you can immediately feel in others if they are exhibiting this characteristic.

Walking The Way of Knowledge

What does it mean to walk The Way of Knowledge? What is it really like? We shall speak about this to give you a greater idea of what the road ahead looks like and what it means to begin.

Inspiration

Surely inspiration is something that must abide with you in meeting great challenges, in exerting yourself, in concentrating your mind and in resolving conflicts in your life. But inspiration will only occur momentarily here and there as a reminder, as something that reconnects you to something greater that represents a larger purpose in life beyond your personal concerns and interests. Inspiration can come from Knowledge. It can come from your Teachers. It can come from your companions. And it can come from very unexpected places. It is a spark that can affect you if your mind is open and receptive to it.

Environments

There is a growing concern about the environment in which you live, the natural environment. This, of course, is important because this is the context in which you live. But the environment is far more important than most people realize. It is important not only for your well-being and your future, it is important in terms of understanding the Greater Community.
