The New Message from God places great emphasis on the importance and the influence of your primary relationships. This emphasis is necessary, for everyone in your life is either strengthening you or weakening you in your pursuit of Knowledge and in your preparation for living a greater life in a changing world.
You will certainly be called upon to serve those who are weaker than you, who need your assistance, who need your wisdom and guidance in very specific ways. But you must walk the journey with those who are as strong as you and with those who are even stronger.
This is often overlooked when people think of spirituality. They think it is a very individual pursuit. They think it is all about you and your mind. But your environment plays such a significant role in enabling you or in disabling you from being able to discern the deeper Knowledge that God has placed within you and the greater purpose that has sent you into the world.
Indeed, within this larger context, relationships take on a new importance and significance. For you need to be with those who can encourage you, who can correct you when necessary, who can help you discern what wisdom really is and who can encourage you towards the reality of Knowledge, towards the reality of your greater purpose, towards a world in need, and not away from them. You need people who are more selfless in their relationship with you, who recognize there is something important within you that needs to be revealed, skills that need to be developed, and a greater calling for you in your life which has yet to be discovered.
There are actually very few people who can do this for you. There are very few people. But those who will be sent to you, you are destined to meet them if you can follow Knowledge within yourself. But even here you will have to discern the appropriate nature of your relationship. You will have to distinguish its personal aspects from its greater meaning and its greater purpose. For even a relationship that is meant to serve the discovery of higher purpose in life will have personal dimensions that will require awareness and discernment, honest self-expression and a certain kind of navigation that is always necessary in human relationships.
A large part of the New Message from God is devoted to teaching about relationships and higher purpose. It is devoted to preparing you to discover these relationships and to discern them from other attractions which will pull you away from your true direction. Ultimately, spirituality is about the ability to unite in purpose with others and to experience affinity and resonance with these people. It is necessary here to think of spirituality not so much as an individual pursuit towards perfection or enlightenment, but as developing the ability to unite with others, unite at a higher level—at the level of purpose, meaning and direction—a level beyond personal ambitions, fears and deceptions.
You can engage and enter into this new realm of relationships because Knowledge is within you. Knowledge is the greater intelligence that the Creator has placed within you to guide and protect you and to lead you to those individuals and those circumstances which can reveal to you this greater intelligence and the greater purpose for which you have come into the world.
Here again it is important to recognize that there are no neutral relationships in your life. Everyone is either helping or hindering this process. Even people who are very loving and very kind and have no negative intent can do this inadvertently—to weaken you, to dilute your focus, to cloud your vision, to distract you with other things that either you or they find to be attractive, but which in truth cannot lead you in the true direction that you must follow.
Ultimately, you will need a network of supportive individuals, but even if you can find one individual who can speak to your greater nature and your greater purpose, then you have made a true discovery. This person does not have to be your wife or husband. They do not have to fulfill some personal need within you, but there must be this greater resonance, this greater recognition and this greater sense of responsibility between you.
These relationships will be rare, but you are destined to have them if you can prepare, if you can follow The Way of Knowledge, if you can learn the wisdom necessary for engaging with people at this higher level, with this deeper understanding, at the level of Knowledge. Here this deeper intelligence becomes your reference point and your guide and counsel regarding who to be with and how to be with them, what to say and what not to say, what to do and what not to do, where to go and where not to go.
People all around you are establishing relationships all the time, but very few of these relationships have any true promise or have any greater dimension. Most people are afraid to be alone, even terrified to be alone, really alone, even though being alone could be very beneficial to them. But the New Message speaks to a deeper need here, the need of the soul, not simply fulfilling the anxieties or the desires of the mind, but a deeper need of the soul. The deeper need of the soul is to recognize and to unite with certain people to carry out a greater contribution in the world.
For indeed, you are here on a mission. You have been sent into the world for a purpose. But this mission and purpose are not what you think. Only Knowledge within you knows. Your mind may speculate. Your mind will fantasize. Your mind will try to answer these questions with its own ideas. But the mind does not know. The mind only thinks. Knowledge within you knows.
Therefore, to take the steps to Knowledge is to lay the foundation for all the great discoveries in life. It lays the foundation for establishing all the true relationships that you will need. It establishes the criteria for everything you do that can lead to true success and fulfillment in life.
You will need this Knowledge to find those who will really make the difference in your life. And you will also need to find these people to confirm Knowledge within yourself, for you will need a witness to the great discovery of Knowledge. You will need at least one person and, over time, more to call you back to Knowledge, your greater responsibility to God—to call you back from your wanderings, your dreams, your fears and your doubts, to this one true purpose that has brought you into the world, this one true purpose that you cannot define, this one true purpose that can only be known and fulfilled within genuine relationships with others.
You cannot return to God if you cannot unite with others. This is a fundamental understanding. If you think of God as the sum of all relationships, how can you return to the sum of all relationships if you cannot unite even with a single person, if you cannot unite mind, body and soul with a single person for a greater purpose in the world? You cannot unite with someone simply for comfort, reassurance or pleasure. For those are not the needs of the soul. They may temporarily alleviate the anxieties of the mind, but they do not represent the true needs of the soul. For you are here on a mission. And God has placed Knowledge within you to call you to this mission, to prepare you for this mission, to liberate you from all other distractions and all other bondage so that you can find this mission, discern it and fulfill it. This is the need of the soul. This is what has brought you here.
The answer is within you, but the calling is in the world. You cannot generate your own calling. The calling is in the world. It will come from other people. It will come from the circumstances of the world that call for your contribution. You have the answer, but the calling is in the world. This is very important, for this will turn you outward instead of just inward. This will call you to true relationship. This will call you to true activity. This will call you to your greater work, beyond whatever employment you are engaged in at this moment.
The New Message from God gives humanity and every person who can respond to it the one great chance for redemption within a changing world. This redemption rests at the heart of every religion, but it must be re-clarified. It must be stated in ways that people can experience more directly without the burden of culture and history, without the weight of centuries of human commentary and misunderstanding. That is why there is a New Message from God in the world.
You are here on a mission. God has placed Knowledge within you. The calling is in the world. To know yourself and to live a life of real meaning and fulfillment, you must find this calling. You must experience this mission. That is why there is a New Message from God in the world.
